Description of the events that occurred: I came back to the station after exploring the away mission to find that everything was being destroyed by a loose tesla, so I went to the pods at arrival since the shuttle was about to dock anyway. The pod had three or four people in it, including Ivan Ivanov and a space ninja. Ivan immediately said "Fuck you Freya" and I responded with "Ivan gay". I guess he took it to heart, because after a minute or two he randomly sliced me into crit with the cap's sabre while I was on the ground. The only reason he didn't finish me off is because the space ninja dragged me a bit. Then the tesla came and killed all of us.
Why you believe they should be punished: Because it was a random attack and the round wasn't over. The space ninja dragged me at the last second but I would've died either way.

For further context, earlier in the round I saw Ivan (a scientist) arrested by Freya (the detective) while fighting space vines, presumably because he was carrying around the captain's saber but there may be more to this. I was the space ninja later in the round and had to stun Ivan while he was cutting up Freya but by that point she was already in hard crit and missing a limb.

I will pull logs and check this, because players can't attack sec for making legitimate arrests. Thanks for reporting, I'll post here when I know more

After reviewing the logs, I have determined that Ivan Ivanov (BYOND Key HASYCTAG) was in the wrong. According to the logs the HOP gave him All Access, and because there are no logs of him breaking in, I assume he simply walked into the captain's quarters and took his gear. This is obvious powergaming, along with the improper escalation that I can confirm in the logs. I'll be applying punishment as required soon. I appreciate you taking the time to report this, and waiting out my procrastination.

I'll leave this thread unlocked for 48 hours if you would like to say anything in closing or if HASYCTAG has an objection (I will do my best to notify him).

Thanks for the response.

I've played a lot more rounds with Ivan and he's generally a good addition to the server. The blatant powergaming (had the warden's shotgun, krav maga gloves, etc) was more annoying than the random murder but I haven't seen him do anything like it since. IMO this is noteworthy at most.

Powergaming just makes me really salty okay?
