Byond account and character name: Nitr0Del7 and Daud Serkonos.
Banning admin: The Host, The Mighty and Grand McTerra.
Ban type (What are you banned from?): Banned from Roles: Captain, Head of Personnel, Head of Security, Chief Engineer, Research Director, Chief Medical Officer
Ban reason and length: 30 days
Time ban was placed (including time zone): 2019-07-29 21:14:47 AEST
Your side of the story: I received a 3 day server ban and a 30 day command ban from “As the captain, randomly locked and unlocked then detonated multiple borgs and shells because "there isn't a rule against it" and "I thought if they weren’t bound to an AI they were able to do whatever they want". In addition to this three-day server ban, I am reinstating Peer's one-month command role ban. Please re-read the rules and perhaps Silicon Policy.” This is a summarized version, I’m writing my appeal, although, even it is foolish, considering the banning admin is the host, just to explain my side as a whole, this has taken a few days to write, please read this carefully, I don’t expect to get a reduction or a successful appeal, but I would at least like to explain a few things. Reasoning and Motive, Intention, and purpose, as well as a few other things. I admit full responsibility for my actions, regardless of what I say, I recognise that I’m wrong, and I apologise for those affected by my actions. I’ve had a lot of time to reflect and rethink my actions. To understand why I did what did, I will start with intention. It was not my intention to do harm purposely to those borgs, I was acting on my limited knowledge of the ins and out of silicon policy, and after a lot of reflection I understand that is integral to the role Captain, and other command roles, in which that fits its preview, in previous rounds when playing science, I don’t know who I heard this from, I cannot recall, it was when I first started playing on AuStation, I remember the AI was killed or turned off, and the borgs with Asimov lawsets, saying “we aren’t slaved to our master, we are free” something along those lines, and wreaked havoc that round. So, when I found out that the borgs had no master, I by default assumed, that they had “free will” and by default, could wreak havoc on the station. So, I went to lockdown the borgs, I started having lag spikes, and was clicking on the cyborg control console a bunch of times, and I misclicked destroy, and be the time I reconnected, what happened, happened, and in panic, I ran out, back to my quarters, when I got the infamous Bwoink. Even though I did harm, and ruined those borg’s rounds, it was not my intention of doing so, I thought I was doing a good thing and the right thing. I see now that I was not. I realise now that my ignorance of integral aspects of the command role is what led to my ban. Next, I’d like to talk about my motive and reasoning, The Reason I did what I did, was because I wanted to take a precautionary measure, I wanted to stop bad, the possibility of bad things happening, before they could happen at all, so after hearing the borgs on the radio talking about their master being gone. My first instinct and reaction were “that’s not very good, sounds like bad news” and I took to action and I did what I did, please understand that in my shoes my Reasoning, although retarded, came from a place of trying to do good, Lastly, the purpose of my actions. The purpose was to ultimately, trying to stop bad from happening, I think it counts for something, even if it’s a little thing to consider, I didn’t act maliciously, it is self-intuitive, why would I do something, purposely, that would lead me to get severely punished, if I knew what I was gonna do was, just to ruin someone’s rounds, and give myself a laugh, and for what. You can claim that its “in my nature because I am a shitter” but I’d disagree. Even if I was doing it purposely, knowing what I was doing, there are much better ways to have fun and laugh and NOT GET BANNED, if I had the knowledge I do know, and the reflection and time I’ve taken into what has happened, I wouldn’t have done it at all. I want to make this game fun for everyone, I want to do good on rounds, where I’m not an antag, and stop the antags that do. Finally, ill talk about my attitude with Terra and how my conduct was, and my attitude in the Admin PM. And my smart arsery of my “there isn't a rule against it’ comment, and many others, I should’ve explained properly, in a proper manner on why I did what I did, but I’ll be honest… I have my own personal issues with you, Terra, I disagree and dislike with the actions you do, and the in some of the ways you conduct yourself, when you act as admin on the server and how you do things, I understand that I'm not the admin, but when im looking at it from my point of view, standing on the sidelines, some things are just aren’t most effective ways of doing things, and, discord aside, considering discord is an informal setting. I’ve had my own grievances with you since when I just as Security Officer on AuStation, when I brigged you for an extra few minutes for attacking the bartender, and when I tried to question you about what happened with the situation, and you wouldn’t comply, then proceeded to go ghost yourself, Spawn as a centcomm official and proceed to lecture me about “proper brigging procedures” when It could have been time spent, telling me what the fuck was going on instead of crying bloody murder and screaming “SHITSEC, SHITSEC” and we could of solved the whole ordeal, made me have a bad impression of you, and well, have pretty much derailed from there, other accusations with my dealings with you, and dealings with some of the people I know, and what I’ve heard, has led me to not really like you a lot, and im sure you feel the same way, and hence why I acted the way I acted in the admin PM you sent me, I lazily explained my reasoning, and thought “it doesn’t matter what I say, because I’ll get banned anyway, or in trouble anyway, and I don’t really like you anyway and don’t care” led me to say what I say, and I was a cunt about it to, both in the discord, pm and public and in the admin PM, and the rest is history.
Why you think you should be unbanned: Why I think I should get unbanned? Well after having some time for reflection, and personal reviewing, even if I personally think, it might be just a tiny bit harsh, I don’t think I should get unbanned, or even a reduced ban, I would like to, but deep down I know I don’t deserve it, I’ve since re-read all the rules, and revised the fundamentals, and everything of silicon policy, and still then continue to properly understand, and commit to memory, the integral parts of the command roles, and how they are essential to progress the round, and how any inaction, or violation of the rules, can lead to having a horrible and lacklustre round, and ruining the fun for many players, and will continue to learn from my mistakes, and do my best to ensure it never happens again. I would just like to note. That this is my first ever server ban from here, and my first official job ban from command, the other one was technically false considering the ban reason was false. I’d like to quote something… ” In addition to this three-day server ban, I am reinstating Peer's one-month command role ban. Please re-read the rules and perhaps Silicon Policy.” This command ban from peer was “Banned from Roles: Captain, Head of Personnel, Head of Security for 1 month - Mid-round suicide as captain during a hostile situation "because they didn't want to deal with it". Deal with it.” Like I said to peer, I didn’t suicide, it was a lie in ghost chat I told to the person I was arguing with, because that round I was really unrobust, got killed by the ai, because of quick siphon, low pressure on no oxygen killed me as I succumbed to my injuries in the disposals pipeline (the one that goes to cargo) and after explaining this to peer, the ban was removed, because I did not suicide as captain. I just wanted to add this, because if peer command ban was truly true, it wouldn’t have been removed a few hours after receiving it, also the ban appeal is on the forums, you’ll find that its unanswered, but it was solved privately In dms with peer, and also was talked about publicly in the server, you can look for it in the austation discord. That’s all I wanted to say. I'm sorry for my action, to those who were affected, I was trying to do the right thing, I promise that my ignorance, won't lead to such horrible actions again, I accept full responsibility for everything that happened, and it is all my fault, I apologise for my attitude in the Admin PM that round. I've had time to reflect and review what happened, and I still continue to do so, and will learn from this mistake, and will learn how to do better next time, thank you for your time reading this.
